POKOTABI / Excelsior Caffé
エクセルシオール カフェ 日本橋一丁目店
Start the day with a thick-sliced toast plate and a drink, then choose from pastas and sandwiches with a range of fillings at lunchtime. Here’s what to expect from the menu at Excelsior Caffé.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
For breakfast, the Thick-Sliced Toast Plate comes with a drink. One weekday-morning diner recalled the thick toast, topped with butter that had begun to melt, as a highlight, and enjoyed it with coffee. Another breakfast visitor noted that the salad was served separately in a cup, and found the butter easy to spread on the toast. The morning set also includes croque monsieur and a jambon ham and lettuce sandwich, so you can choose between something lighter and a more substantial meal.
Pasta and sandwiches are among the lunch options. Pasta choices include tomato pasta with smoked chicken and mascarpone, Japanese-style pasta with shrimp and cod roe, and a dish with shiso leaf and mascarpone. One diner who stopped by after missing lunch reported ordering carbonara, making the café an option when you want a proper meal rather than just a snack. Sandwiches include pastrami beef with truffle mayonnaise, prosciutto caprese with Hokkaido mozzarella, and a ciabatta filled with grilled chicken and caponata sauce. There’s plenty of choice in the fillings if you want to grab a bite with a drink.
Coffee options include blend coffee, Americano and latte, alongside tea and masala chai. For something sweet, the menu lists mille crêpe cake, apple pie and a three-layer chocolate cake scented with citrus. The café is presented as a place for breakfast, lunch or a meal on your own, with both dine-in and takeaway available. One customer reported that some morning-set items had sold out, so if you have a particular breakfast in mind, check what is available at the café on the day.
